Life in Motion By Misty Copeland

Macy
9/8/15
Life in motion is the story of Misty Copeland's life, and how she came to be a dancer at ABT. Misty is a young girl who loves to dance and do gymnastics, and she is very good at both of them. Even though she's never taken a class and she doesn't know what ballet is. At thirteen Misty joins her school's "drill team," when the teacher sees her she is amazed at Misty's talent and tells Misty to join ballet at the boys and girls club. Even though Misty is talented, other things affect her. Her mother is constantly Marrying and Divorcing, and it has become a cycle. Some of them affect Misty and her siblings.
This book was enjoyable because of Misty's courage, she was able to push through adversity and become a princple dancer at ABT. Misty has been through so much more than many other ballerinas. Not only did she become a ballet dancer she became one of the best. She met her goal and now she lives her life doing something she loves. It was an inspiring book, and very sad and touching as well.
