This one summer

This one summer is a book about a girl named Rose, every summer her family goes to a place called Awago Beach. Rose goes to visit her friend, and she finds that they both have changed.  Her friend, Windy is interested in different things, while Rose holds onto the memories of her younger years. They both are always together, despite their differences and conflict. Although they are growing up they are both still very mischievous. Sometimes this leads them into trouble. In one scene of the book the girls are bored and rent an X rated movie. Windy's mother comes home to find them under their blankets in terror.
I enjoyed this book, the characters were both very relatable experimenting with things as they grow up. The characters are also very much like children, always interested in what their parents have hid from them. This book is relatable because similar to me, Rose also has a special place she visits every summer. The people in this place for her and for me, are changing as well. For Rose it is a land of happiness, sleeping late, and changes.
